Trinitys League Cup Hopes Demolished...
On a wintery Sunday morning this Ireson Cup game eventually beat the weather at the third attempt. Trinity probably wish that the snow had claimed the match for a third time as they were a shadow of the team that had played so well during the previous two months. The tone was set virtually from the kick off as DSV went straight through the Trinity defence forcing the now regular goalkeeper Graham Dixon into an excellent save. Worse was to follow as Trinitys Chris Short was penalised for hand ball two minutes later. Dixon claiming another penalty save as the ball hit a post and was safely cleared. Trinity replied with their first attack through Phil Brumby who set up David Barnes but his effort was wide of the goal. DSV finally took the lead on 12 minutes as Trinitys defence was again absent leaving Dixon with no chance of saving a low shot. DSV had strong claims for another penalty on 20 minutes which the Ref turned down, but only 2 minutes later it was 2-0 with a similar goal to their first. With 10mins of the first half remaining a cracking 25yard effort from Brumby hit the DSV post. Straight away Dixon was again called into action with another good save. As Trinity were hoping to reach half time without further damage DSV had other ideas and on the stroke of half time a crisp shot found the top corner to make it 3-0 at the break. Trinity improved in the second half but the game was out of reach on 70 mins when DSV scored their 4th and final goal. Trinity were denied a consolation when the DSV keeper again saved well from Brumby, while at the other end a couple of late controversial decisions by the Ref saw a DSV "Goal" disallowed as Short lay injured and another effort disallowed for offside. DSV now play Baysgarth Old Boys in round 2.

New Club Captain announced...
Trinity are pleased to announce that after the Departure of Keeper and Club Captain Glyn Sparks, Graham Dixon will take over the Armband and lead Trinity into what is looking like a very exciting promotion race in Division 3. Keith Harper handed the Armband to Dixon before this weekends defeat to League Leaders Baysgarth.
Dixon said he was proud to be given the chance to lead out the Team, and jokingly added that he was concerned it was given to him to calm him down on the pitch.

Trinity crumble at Baysgarth...
This Sunday morning saw a Top of the table clash in Division 3 where league leaders Baysgarth Old Boys entertained Trinity who sit in 2nd place. It was a quick start to the game and both teams looked fired up, it was Baysgarth who had the open shot of the game only for keeper Graham Dixon to make a near post save. This seemed to wake Trinity up and moments later could of been infront when the ball landed on the edge of the area to an on coming Rick Camplin but he flashed his effort wide. It was Camplin again who almost broke the dead-lock after great skill and a lay off by McCrea, found Camplin in bags of space in the box. With the goal at his mercy though he smashed it over the bar. Baysgarth then seemed to click into gear and forced a few corners, one from which the opening goal was scored. Trinity failed to clear there lines and when the ball landed back with the orginal corner taker he smashed a shot goalwards which took a deflection and past Dixon into the net. Trinity tried to push for the equaliser but were caught out on the break when a defence splitting pass found the Baysgarth forward who cooly slotted past Dixon.
HT Baysgarth 2 Trinity 0
The second half started brightly for Trinity and when Chris Short came out of 50-50 tackle with a gashed knee a freekick was awarded and Short left the pitch for treatment. It was from this Sam Clayton freekick that Trinity found a way back into the game. Clayton floated over the ball to which 1st half sub Phil Brumby met with his shoulder which forced a good save from the Baysgarth keeper, but it landed at the feet on Camplin who slotted in. Just when Trinity had found there way back into the game the Defence was caught out again by a through ball from midfield of Baysgarth and as in the first half the Striker smashed it past Dixon. This livened the game up and it was action packed at both ends with Baysgarth forcing a session of corners and down the other end Trinitys attackers were guilty of missing some gilt edge chances. These misses were to prove costly to Trinity as the Baysgarth Right Winger cut inside and got his shot away early and found the Bottom corner 1-4. This was an end to the scoring in the game but on a different morning in the last 10 minutes Trinity could have ended as winners in the game all but for some good saves and some bad misses from the Trinity attackers.

Breaking News...
Before Trinitys victory over Crowle Keys on Sunday, Trinity were delt a massive blow when influencial Goalkeeper Glyn Sparks announced that he wouldnt be playing anymore this season. In recent months Glyn has been running in marathons for Local Charities and made the hard decision to hang up his gloves. This shocked the Trinity squad and management as recent results have found Trinity rise to 2nd in the Divison 3 table.
Glyn said that the Decision to stop playing for Trinity this year was hard because of way the team has started this season and by how much he was enjoying playing for the team. He added that if he were to continue playing and got an injury, resulting in himself not been able to take place in the marathons, he would be letting alot of people down who have/will be sponsoring him.
So with Glyn gone Trinity will be relying on Stand-in Keeper Graham ( The Cat ) Dixon to fill the void.

Crowle Keys v Trinity Match Report...
Trinity moved up into 2nd spot in Div 3, with this hard fought win at a wind swept Windsor Park, Crowle. They won the toss and elected to use the strong wind in the first half. Trinity soon had the Crowle defence at sea with some fast flowing football, which eventually was rewarded in the 9th minute when the inform Mark McCrea cut in from the left to score his 7th goal of the season. As the conditions deteriorated Trinity could not find a way through the Crowle defence, infact the Crowle team began to put some pressure on the Trinity back line. Just before half time the wind caught out Glyn Sparks in goal and Trinity were thankful for a Phil Brumby goal line clearance.
Half Time ; Crowle Keys 0 Trinity 1
With the wind at their backs it was Crowles turn to push forward after the break. A few anxious moments in the Trinity defence soon ended with a Crowle equaliser after 55mins. As in the first half once a goal had been scored the team with the wind advantage failed to push on. Trinity were soon causing problems for Crowle again with McCrea and Jason Harper a constant threat. As the game entered the last quarter hour Trinity seemed certain to have scored but once again Jason Harper managed to miss the target with the goal at his mercy. At the other end, for once someone tried their luck with the wind, seeing a good effort hit the top of the bar. With 90mins up a 1-1 draw seemed to be a fair score, but McCrea had other ideas as he forced his way through the Crowle defence to win the game for a jubilant Trinity team. In a game played in an excellent sporting manor, somehow there was 3 yellow cards. Trinitys Graham Dixon and Mark McCrea were both booked after THEY HAD BEEN FOULED ! whilst the Crowle tackle on Dixon was also deemed to be worth a yellow card.
