Trinity moved up into 2nd spot in Div 3, with this hard fought win at a wind swept Windsor Park, Crowle. They won the toss and elected to use the strong wind in the first half. Trinity soon had the Crowle defence at sea with some fast flowing football, which eventually was rewarded in the 9th minute when the inform Mark McCrea cut in from the left to score his 7th goal of the season. As the conditions deteriorated Trinity could not find a way through the Crowle defence, infact the Crowle team began to put some pressure on the Trinity back line. Just before half time the wind caught out Glyn Sparks in goal and Trinity were thankful for a Phil Brumby goal line clearance.
Half Time ; Crowle Keys 0 Trinity 1
With the wind at their backs it was Crowles turn to push forward after the break. A few anxious moments in the Trinity defence soon ended with a Crowle equaliser after 55mins. As in the first half once a goal had been scored the team with the wind advantage failed to push on. Trinity were soon causing problems for Crowle again with McCrea and Jason Harper a constant threat. As the game entered the last quarter hour Trinity seemed certain to have scored but once again Jason Harper managed to miss the target with the goal at his mercy. At the other end, for once someone tried their luck with the wind, seeing a good effort hit the top of the bar. With 90mins up a 1-1 draw seemed to be a fair score, but McCrea had other ideas as he forced his way through the Crowle defence to win the game for a jubilant Trinity team. In a game played in an excellent sporting manor, somehow there was 3 yellow cards. Trinitys Graham Dixon and Mark McCrea were both booked after THEY HAD BEEN FOULED ! whilst the Crowle tackle on Dixon was also deemed to be worth a yellow card.
